Boku no Hero Academia

Synopsis:

What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested extraordinary superpowers called “Quirks” at age four? Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Becoming a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study? U.A. High's Hero Program of course! But what would you do if you were one of the 20 percent who were born Quirkless?

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers-

Sigh This series doesn't deserve the amount of hate it gets for being a superhero anime, I just want to say that yeah this is another superhero anime but it is still good, please don't get put off because of the theme as it is really good. And I've also had enough of people saying it's a rip-off of this series or that series, I enjoyed it and I think it is worth it. So this is about a world where everyone has superpowers (known as quirks) but our main character is part of the small percentage that doesn't but still wants to become a hero. He's constantly bullied about it but even so he still powers through everyday in his own way, when he meets his idol and he is given the chance to change is fate (but I won't spoil too much as that is the whole point of the anime).

STORY

The story was good, it had a nice build up and good pacing. I was told that they were going quite slowly (I mean like 1 chapter per episode) but I think for this type of anime it developed well. Another thing about the story is that it is interesting and intriguing, the idea of superpowers is just something people dream about but here it is put into a story which is well done.

ANIMATION

The animarion was good, but obviously it wasn't perfect there were a few scenes where you couldn't see the face of thhe person speaking at a certain distance or the faces were slightly off, and angles could be seen as weirdly portrayed but all these things were more towards the minor side and honestly not too noticeable.

SOUND

Next is the sound, the opening was great and really catchy and the ending was perfect and I don't think I'll be able to pick one of them as my overall favourtie. The voice acting was also done to a high standard and I haven't got much to complain about here...yep that's it.

CHARACTERS

The characters were all unique and fun but I wish there was more development of the characters (yeah I know there will be a second series but still), this was probably were this show was lacking. Like they got everything else out the way, plot, character introduction and so on but pretty much zero character development for those other than Midoriya (who had a bit of development).

Anyway boom, review for the anime lottery club all done and hope you enjoy it xx

The most refined underdog story to this day

This anime gives me a feeling similar to when I watched One Punch Man, and may have been the solution to the itch for those types of shows that I had been craving for some time now. This show is definitely a shounen show, with the hype and all. I feel as though it serves remarkably as a show surrounding heroes, establishing the society a little more realistically than in One Punch Man which is a nice touch. The underdog story that the main character goes through is also pretty good, although the twist of having his powers come from the top super hero making him his successor was a pleasant surprise since I expected him to have a secret dormant Quirk or something rather. The progression was quite nice, although some parts feel a bit rushed to me, which is inevitable given the length of the first season. And on that note, this series has another season that is out right now so I think talking about the pacing is probably inappropriate. Anyways, the characterization is probably the biggest issue I had with this first season of Boku no Hero Academia wherein because of the sheer size of the cast, there was no breathing room in terms of development and some characters just turned out being a gag so that was a bit hurtful for the show. Although, as said before, this is only the first season, with most likely more characterization to come.
The relationship between the main character and his rival is a good motivator for some development of characters, although the series may have taken up most of the first season establishing that which hurts the previous two aspects that I mentioned but strengthens the motivations and goal of the main character.
I also liked the striking art style and impact of the battle scenes, really making me pumped for all of the hype that it built up. Although, the villains may have been a bit edgy at times which was eh, I liked the designs of all characters and I felt as though because of the short length of the first season the animators had little breathing room in terms of how much they could show with all of those interesting character designs. Despite that complaint about the villains being kind of edgy, it is only the start after all and considering the fact that Shiguraki is directly perpendicular to Deku. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Characters, Art, Soundtrack, Plot, Animation... Boku no Hero has everything at the top. The epic levels are over 9000!!

I want to say I don't like super heroes at all. Never saw any marvel movie, never followed Spiderman or Batman, etc. So it is really really impressive how much I like Boku no Hero. It has to be Japan. Those crazy-genious japanese people can make anything to be the most epic shit ever, so with super heroes they just have no limits. Welcome to the most epic anime ever done, where everything (Art style, animation, characters, soundtrack....) is made to be EPIC.

Boku no Hero tell us the story about Midoriya Izuku and how he will become the greatest hero ever. This anime's world is used to super heroes and villains cause around 80% of the population have some especial power wich they call Quirks. Midoriya Izuku really admires heroes and has a really strong sense of justice, his dream is to become the greatest hero ever like All Might, the number 1 hero on the world who posses the quirk called "One for All". Sadly, Midoriya Izuku does NOT have a quirk, so his dreams cannot be acomplished... or so he though.

One day he gets rescued from a villain by the greatest hero All Might and after that Midoriya discover how All Might powers are getting worse and worse cause of a big injury... Next day, the same villain attack Midoriya's friend Katsugi Bakugo. The situation gets complicated and no hero can help o that moment cause they are busy dealing with other villains too, and All Might powers are off temporarily cause of the injury, so he can't help and gets realy frustrated because of that. But Midoriya Izuku, who was witnessing the situation, couldn't resist any longer and went to rescue his friend alone, without quirk or a plan. When Bakugo ask him what is he doing he could only say his legs moved on their own, that he looked like he was asking for help. That heroic action was heard by All Might and motivatred him so much that a burst of his powers came back and so he could save the situation.

After all that, All Might, impressed by the strong sense of justice of Midoriya Izuku, tells to this one how his heroic action, how someone without a quirk just couldn't help to go help and try his best encouraged him to get his power back for a bit. He told him that most of the top heroes had one thing in common: Their bodies moved before they had a chance to think. So last he told Midoriya Izuku one last thing: "You can become a hero".

The story is full of epic moments, the ost and awesome art style and animation help a lot to get that epicism. The pacing is a bit slow cause it is telling us the start of Midoriya Izuku development to become a real hero and cause there is a lot of different characters with different personalities and quirks, so I think it is a necessary thing to get good character development. We will see season by season how Midoriya Izuku and the others grow up and get stronger till they become the new top heroes, so things can only get better and better. To the day I write this, they are airing 3rd season and things are just more and more epic, and I can definitely say they are doing and awesome job, so go watch it and don't miss this extremely epic adventure!

Boku no Hero is ALL ABOUT EPICISM.
