Hmm… I feel like I’ve heard of this anime before…
This anime follows the middle-aged Kenichi Hamada. After being mysteriously transported into a different world, Kenichi gains the ability of online shopping through the platform of Shangri-La. Being able to access what is pretty much the equivalent of Amazon, Kenichi tries to live a peaceful and profitable life, selling unique items and making the most out of his abilities.
Kenichi is pretty much your typical mature adult. He’s also pretty creative, making the most out of his ability to access Shangri-La. In his journey, he meets a few new friends. These include a very friendly business partner named Primula, a very protective little girl called Anemone, and two ferocious furry human-cat-like hybrids named Myarre and Nyamena.
I’m loving the inclusion of middle-aged adults in fantasy worlds. It’s a nice change compared to the usual child reincarnation anime. I found the anime to be very entertaining, especially seeing how Kenichi would make the most out of Shangri-La and seeing how the other characters would react to the “new” creations and “beasts” that Kenichi summons out of nowhere. He’s also very straightforward, cutting straight to the chase in many situations where doing so would be bold. I like it. He comes off as interesting rather than annoying when he does it too.
As the show progressed, I began to slowly dislike Kenichi’s romantic dynamics with the characters. I do like that they got through many of those scenes and storylines quickly, but the inclusion of them didn’t really contribute anything important or interesting to the story at all.
I didn’t find anything downright ugly with this anime.
Honestly, I don’t think this anime is necessarily worth watching. However, if you do choose to watch it, I don’t think you’d be super disappointed either. It’s just a good show overall that isn’t a must-watch.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not! If you already have watched it, I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. ^^
