Through posting a "Best Comment", I somehow became the main character of a webtoon!
This is just... amazing. The story is captivating with VERY expressive artwork and all the characters are amazing.
The story is simple but camptivating since it's very clear from the start that it's just about a boy with a simple objective. After searching about it before reading i got the feeling that the school factor and how the protagonist was a student, wouldn't play any role but i was left suprised with how the author kept reminding us of how Heo Seol-Jin is nothing more than a student who had big issues with self esteem. But despite this, the times i laughed were numerous, the combination of the art style and the characters' dialog can make anyone chuckle while reading. And i believe that to make a story more impactful, then it should have moments of joy, not only to contrast when the going gets tough, but because by laughing we people naturaly develop affection, which is a very powerful and well used "weapon" in Gintama (one of the best anime/manga out there). But it's clear that the story focuses instead on using the time to flesh out and evolve characters while they build interesting relationships. Since people eventualy forget the story, but never the characters.
It's hard not to feel simpathy with the main character, Heo Seol-Jin, and with the way that he tries to redeem himself for his mistakes. It's very comendable how this manhwa gives the story mainly with protagonist's prespective like how we're used to in isekais, but is also not afraid into delving into the side characters and also giving them plenty of love, providing us with a very lively cast of characters. I specialy love Cali
(Libur), it's hard not to get attached to her with how she's written and how much she makes us laugh.
But the cast is so much more impactful with the artwork which is one of the most expressive art styles i've seen out there, no matter the genre or type of media it's being compared to. There were times where i sat in awe with how much exaggerated yet, believable and impactful the feelings of the characters were transmited to us. But it doesn't end there, there is a lot of combat and conflict here and there are no shortcuts in this regard too. Every hit and it's build up can bring shivers to readers with amazing effects. And to help comedy, the art style can transition very well from amazing effects and well drawn, to extremely disporpotional characters, really helping with the dynamic. it's hard to get bored while reading
This manhwa left a big impression on me and i can't wait for it to be completly released, definately a must read to anyone who enjoys any kind of isekais or just supernatural-action manhwa.
