"Make the Exorcist Fall in Love" is a beautiful manga that showcases the deconstruction of several types of abuse while developing the romance between the two main characters. It is an excellent read for those who want manga that handles severe topics in a well-manner, showing how new works attempt to show under-represented situations with male protagonists.

Mr. Priest is a boy whom God chose as the strongest exorcist, and his character development is spearheaded mainly by traumatic events, primarily sexual assault from Asmodeus and religious abuse from the church from his past. Throughout the manga, Mr. Priest internally struggles with mental health, seeing himself and normal sexual urges as dirty and constantly sacrificing his health for the missions and tasks that the church gives him. However, Mr. Priest slowly opens his emotions when he is tasked to protect Imuri, a girl who is secretly a demon and is tasked to make him fall in love with her.

Imuri and Mr. Priest's relationship is seen as complicated; two people on completely different sides, yet can connect with each other more throughout the story. Despite Imuri being a demon, she starts to feel the genuine need to change Mr. Priest's current view on the world and encourage him to do his hobbies, like baking, more as the two interact. Seeing how Mr. Priest and his ideal of supporting victims of abuse like him changes Imuri's idea of what love is.

The way that the manga carefully layers and plans the series is clever once certain scenes occur. Spoilers for the current events of the manga: Mr. Priest has a past with the Demon Lord of Sloth, Bel, who had given him his current hobbies and the amount of stuffed toys that he has. Throughout the manga, Mr. Priest is shown to have snail stuffed toys, an animal that is often associated with Sloth. Bel and Mr. Priest have a genuine relationship due to the mutual understanding of how much they both suffered (Mr. Priest's systematic abuse from the church and Bel's persecution for being a demon). It is also seen that Mr. Priest and Bel have the same side of hair that covers the same eye, continuing their understanding of each other from appearance. The careful organization that the manga reveals after hints is worthwhile and appreciative.

"Make the Exorcist Fall in Love" is the perfect manga for anyone who wants a story about religious trauma, abuse, healing from traumatic events, and learning about the concept of love.

Church has a kid become the strongest exorcist to fight against satan, Surely it will end well 10/10 Story & characters

Make the exorcist fall in love is an amazing manga that show a lot of issues with society and make the audience think a lot about the story.

Priest [mc] is a young man who's been taught by the church from a young age and ~tortured and forced~ to become an exorcist who can match satan. The church saw his power and thought that if they could control it, then they'd be able to use him to defeat satan.

Satan knows of the boy's power very early on so he had imuri [FL] seduce the boy.

There's a lot of things to be said about this manga, and I believe that a lot of this manga is very grey. No character is an NPC that doesn't think for themself, and very early on the manga depicts signs of abuse, problems with incels and toxic masculinity through one of the enemies [one of the 7 deadly sins/demon lords]

The romance is very good but this manga I believe while it has some romance, the manga is more drama/action first then romance 2nd as it shows a lot of problems with the way priest-kun has been brought up. Keep in mind that in the main storyline, Priest-kun is only 16/17 even though he might look younger. This means that a lot of the things that the church has done to the priest is morally grey at best and if you look at the earliest signs [which is from chapter 1] it's horrible what they've done to priest

Now add to that the fact that he's burdened with the responsibility of being the "strongest exorcist" while all of the adults around him are ignorant or care not for his well-being, and you get a fucked up teenager. Imuri is a good pair for him considering that they're both pretty much the same age if not imuri being a little older.

I do not want to spoil the manga a lot more, but it is very easy to sympathize with the ML and some of the enemies' struggles. You can kind of see why they turned out the way they did, except for some people. Now, would I recommend this if you are religious? Yes. If you're not religious i'd still recommend it due to how good the storytelling and worldbuilding is.

Simply put, the mc was brainwashed when he was younger to become a servant of the church to defeat demon lords and satan. The enemies of this manga also aren't completely terrible as you're [sometimes] shown their side of the story, that doesn't mean they're not evil, it just means you know a bit of where they're coming from, which makes the story and the characters more fleshed out, and makes you understand why they become the way they are. Priest-kun is also too young to be dealing with all of this BS i swear to god

Also, You know how the MC isn't named at all? He's literally just called "father" or "priest". It has to be one of the most anticipated moment of the series. The fact that this manga doesn't give the main character a name, and instead leaves it out for later is very telling. He has to be someone relevant to the bible or the ars goetia considering how strong he is.

Would recommend 10/10 if you love any of: romance, philosophy, religion, action, drama
Would not recommend if you're not into: thinking
