__Vanitas no Carte: A Review__
__Introduction__

Vanitas no Carte, also known as The Case Study of Vanitas is a masterpiece manga made by the legendary mangaka Jun Mochizuki . No, not the Vanitas from Kingdom Hearts anyways she’s mostly known for her other masterpiece Pandora Hearts which is amazing. She is an absolute genius writer and an amazing artist as her art is probably my favourite in all of animanga. Please support her by buying her manga and watch the anime since it’s going really good right now. I thought they would mess up some bits but i was completely wrong, give it a watch. Anyways let’s get into this

__Story and Characters__

There were two types of vampires, one born from the crimson moon and the other the blue full moon, was a vampire known as Vanitas, despised and detested by their own kind for being born under a blue full moon, as most vampires are born from the crimson. The feelings of fear and isolation led them to create the "Book of Vanitas” which is a cursed grimoire that would one day take his revenge on all the vampires. Vanitas no Carte is set in the 19th century of Paris and follows Noé, a young man who was traveling on an airship in with one goal in mind: to find the Book of Vanitas, the cursed grimoire mentioned before. Suddenly a vampire attack happens on the airship and this leads him to meet the mysterious Vanitas, he likes to call himself a doctor which specialist in vampires and a completely ordinary human. Noé astonished that Vanitas would come to him and making his goal come true. Vanitas had used the Book of Vanitas on the airship to cure the curse bearer basically exorcising it. Noé had figured out what to do and followed him as he had always wanted to meet Vanitas and because he had the book. However there is something sinister about him.

The characters are absolutely amazing. Jun Mochizuki’s art of the characters expresses the characters even more and the personalities of each character are kind of unique such as Noé as he stares of at something that looks hella cool. The comedic bits between characters also put a huge smile on my face as it isn’t always serious as there is times to laugh and smile. If the manga was just serious all the way through it would be really bland and you wouldn’t see the funny side of each character. These scenes encourage you to keep reading as you grow onto the characters, obviously my favourite character being Vanitas as his backstory is tragic and that meeting Noé helped him in many ways but doesn’t like expressing it. Vanitas and Noé’s dynamics and rivalries is what makes me most interested into this series and easily one of my favourite duos ever. The characters for me is what makes me wanna continue reading and how they adapt to the story too is what makes it so good. My favourite characters ordered would be Vanitas, Noé, Jeanne, Domi and the legend himself Murr.

__Art__

Said this multiple times in the review but the art is amazing in every single way and I’m not kidding to you when I say this are is easily one of my favourites ever. The feeling from the art is just beautiful if you could say. It has a special feeling and makes the story more captivating with its clean and detailed designs. Look at some of the art here:

Everytime you go to the next page it feels special and that feeling will honestly never go away, I love this manga with my everything and I urge you to read this masterpiece. You may say “there are manga with better art” that is completely your opinion and I respect it as manga such as Slam Dunk, Berserk, Vagabond and more have clean art with lots of detail, I know that but this manga especially makes you feel something. The manga that I just listed are also masterpieces so I do recommend checking them out especially Takehiko Inoue’s works.
